New Zealand's First Professional Pole Fitness Academy

What Should I Wear?

The most important things to wear to one of our classes are;

  • a singlet or t-shirt (like you would wear to the gym!)
  • shorts (hot pants or similar short styled shorts)
  • bare feet, sneakers or heels

We know that no one feels comfortable wearing those super short shorts - after all none of us are supermodels, but when you are doing pole work, you will quickly see that you will rely on your skin to grip the pole.
When you have fabric between you and the pole, you will not be able to grip the pole sufficiently to hold on and you will not be able to achieve a lot of moves we teach.

With your footwear;
If you choose to wear heels then choose a height you feel comfortable with and can walk in.
Also choose something that fits your foot firmly and preferably has a strap to hold it onto your feet.
We do not allow students to wear slip on heels under any circumstances as Unidentified Flying Objects (aka shoes) can be a recipe for disaster!

If you want to, you can dress up - we dont mind at all if you want to wear something a little fun along to classes! We do ask that if you choose to wear a dress, if you could have shorts/hotpants underneath to protect your modesty.

All of our classes are designed around you feeling good about yourself, learning new skills, toning and improving your body and bringing out your inner goddess.
So wear what you feel good in and do what makes you feel good!

WARNING:

Skin must be free of oils or lotions for classes.

This means anything you put on your skin including;
Moisturiser, Tanning Products, Skin Oils, Hand Cremes, Arnica, Therapeutic Products and Body Shimmers. We tell you this as any lotions on your skin, get onto the poles and your grip will be affected. You will also leave the poles greasy and slippery which makes them dangerous to all pole users.

We also request you remove all jewellery.
This includes;
rings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, dangling/hoop earrings, anklets and any body piercings with chains attached
before the lesson starts.

Hand and foot jewellery can affect your grip on the pole and can scratch and damage you and the poles!.
